Spent a day on assignment in Minneapolis for Minnesota Public Radio, photographing Two Bettys, a green cleaning service with fair labor practices that employs working artists.
Racing Age chosen winner American Photography 32 AI-AP /
Honored that several images from Racing Age have been chosen for inclusion in the American Photography 32 AI-AP . Images from the (soon to arrive!) book project and last summer's collaboration with Jim Estrin of the New York Times LENS blog and Jeff Furticella and Becky Lebowitz Hanger on the New York Times sports desk covering the World Masters Athletics Championship in Lyon, France. Thanks editors & judges for the support.
People love pot roast... /
Spent a delicious day photographing chef Gavin Kaysen making his grandmother's pot roast recipe for the New York Times Food section. Just in time before spring hits. I went home and made this the next night. I recommend you do the same.
Black Lives Matter for MPR /
The last assignment I was on in 2015 was this, covering the continuing Black Lives Matter civil rights movement and protests in Minneapolis for Minnesota Public Radio . These are deep, intense days out on the street, watching emotions flow and history unfold. Trying to do my best to document and tell some part of the story.

In honor of our first 15%: a pic of British masters athlete Sue Yeomans clearing a vault on the way to a second place finish in the women's 60-64 category at the World Masters Championships in Lyon, France with a clearance of 2.70 meters/8.86 feet.
She can do it. We can do it.

Racing Age World Masters in France for NYTimes /
I spent my 40th birthday documenting the decathlon and heptathlon at the World Masters Championships in Lyon, France for the New York Times sports section and LENS blog, part of my work on the Racing Age project. My intrepid mom, Polly, traveled with me and worked with me as an assistant, audio tech and general sanity-keeper.
